Nicolas Acosta Named GSAC POTW 3x This Season

Cranford, NJ - The Owls have entered the new year a perfect 2-0 so far and freshman phenom, #8 Nicolas Acosta, has been a major part of that. Acosta led the way on Tuesday night for the Owls. Acosta Scored 26 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, and blocking 3 shots in a wire-to-wire win over conference opponent Bergen Community College.

In Saturday's primetime matchup with rival Brookdale Community College, Nicolas added another double-double in the books scoring 23 points, grabbing 18 rebounds, blocking 4 shots, and adds new career high with 4 steals. The freshman forward has proven once again he is in the top ranks of forwards in the country - averaging 25 points, 14 rebounds and 3 blocks this week as the Owls are now 11-3 and move into first place in the GSAC conference.

Next HOME game for UCNJ Men's basketball is Thursday, January 16 at 6:00pm vs Passic Community County College and then the Owls will host Thaddeus Stevens on Saturday, January 18, tipping off at 2:00pm.
