Esports Week 2 Recap: Mario Kart 4v4 Joins the Madness
Week 2 Esports Recap:
Watch out for the BANANA, as the UCNJ Mario Kart 4v4 team hit the speedway this past week to start the season.
EA FC 25:
UCNJ’s Sebastian Jaramillo took on Bergen Community College on October 7th. In what ended up being a back-and-forth matchup Sebastian fell to in-state rival Bergen 2-1. Bergen won the first game 2-0, UCNJ took the second game 1-0, and Bergen took the third game 2-1 to win the series. Sebastian will be in action again on October 14th against Lackawanna College.
Fortnite No Build:
The Fortnite team continued their winning ways in week 2 against Bergen Community College. The Owls won the first match 14-3 and the second match 29-5 to win the game 2-0 The Fortnite team will next take on Florida State College at Jacksonville on October 14th.

Overwatch:
The Overwatch team is still on the downhill slope of Rocky Peak . They fell to SUNY: Onondaga by a score of 3-0. The Overwatch team will be in action versus Northeast Iowa Community College on October 16th.

Call of Duty Gunfight:
The Call of Duty Gunfight Team consisting of former National Champion Paulo Matias and newcomer Bryan Carrilo took to the sticks to take on Terra State Community College and Heartland Community College in week 2 action. In the first matchup the Owls fell behind 2-1 in the best of 5 series but were able to hunker down and win the last two games to win the series 3-2. The Owls let the momentum ride into the second match of their double header by sweeping Heartland Community College 3-0. The 4-0 Owls will be back in action October 17th against Gordon State Community College and Pensacola State College.
Mario Kart 1v1:
Santiago Puerto continued his hot streak from week 1 into his two matchups against Harrisburg Area Community College & Terra State Community College. Santi steamrolled his way through both matchups sweeping both opponents 4-0. Santi currently sits at the top of the NJCAAe East Standings with a 4- record and a 91% map winning percentage. Santi is back in back in action on October 17th against 2nd place Danville Area Community College and Heartland Community College.
Rocket League:
The UCNJ Owls Rocket League team split their two games in week 2. They lost their opening match to perennial powerhouse Lackawanna College 3-0. After the game spirits remained high as the Owls embraced the competition and learned something from the experience. In the second match of the double header the Owls swept another Region 19 in Camden County College. Each team alternated wins with the Owls taking the decisive game 5 to take the series. The Owls are back in action on October 18th against Muskegon Community College and Camden County College.

Mario Kart 4v4:
A new team hits the speedway, the UCNJ Owls Mario Kart hits the Speedway for its second season. The Owls opened their season against Southwest Wisconsin Technical College. The Owls swept the series 3-0 with three consecutive 3-1 victories. The Owls will be back in action on October 16th with an opponent generated by the governing body.
