Santiago Puerto Bounces Back Nicely in Week 5!!!
Week 5 Esports Recap:
EA FC 25:
UCNJ’s Sebastian Jaramillo was on a bye week. Sebastian looks to turn his season around on 11/4/25 as he takes on the top player in the region from Guilford Technical Community College
Fortnite No Build:
The Fortnite team suffered their first loss of the season to Jackson College. The Owls lost the series 2-1, The Owls lost the first game 2-1, won the second game 4-0, and tied the last game 0-0 but lost on a last man standing rule. The Owls currently sit in second place at 4-1. The Owls will take on Johnston Community College on 11/04/24.

Call of Duty Gunfight:
The Call of Duty Gunfight team extended their win streak to 10 in a row to start the season. The Owls took on Guilford Technical Community College to start the night on our first broadcast of the season. The Owls took care of Guilford in three straight games to win the series. To make the win even better the Owls did not drop a single round in any game. To close out the double header the Owls took on Terra State Community College. This series was a bit more competitive, but the Owls ended up taking the series 3-0 winning (6-3, 6-4, & 6-4) The first place Owls now sit at 10-0 with 4 games remaining in the regular season. The Owls will next be in action for a doubleheader against Heartland Community College and Gordon State College on 11/7/24.

Mario Kart 1 vs 1:
Santiago Puerto bounced back nicely after his first loss of the season sweeping both of his opponents this week. Santi went on to win his first series against 1st place Lorain County Community College 4-0 handing them their first loss of the season. For the second match of the week Santi was up against Cleveland Community College, riding high on his first win Santi let the momentum ride into a clean sweep for a flawless victory this week. Santi currently sits in 2nd place in the region with a record of 10-1. Santi is back in action on 11/7/24 against Iowa Western Community College and Wichita State University- Campus of Applied Sciences and Technology.
Rocket League:
The UCNJ Owls Rocket League Team suffered the worst week of their season. The Owls dropped their first match against Western Technical College 3-0 losing (3-2, 2-1, 3-0). The Owls were able to get a round win in their second match but fell to Madison College 3-1 losing (1-0, 0-1, 0-1, & 0-1). The Owls currently sit in 7th place with a 7-5 record with matches against 8th place Brookdale Community College and 5th place Heartland Community College on 11/7/24 in what are important games heading into the post season.

Mario Kart 4v4:
The Owls 4v4 Mario Kart Team were finally able to hit the track again after numerous weeks of technical difficulties from the league office. The Owls lost to Marshalltown Community College 2-0. The Owls will be back in action on 11/6/24.
